It is recommended to check the filters on your own, if too much dust has accumulated on the surface of the filter, the antiviral efficiency decreases as the microbes are not in-contact with the filter.

Is it necessary to improve filtration in places that are regularly disinfected?

Can the air filter be used again after it has been washed?

Can the air filter remove chemicals such as Formaldehyde?

Yes, the air filter can remove some PM2.5 and chemical substances, but this is not one of the filter's strengths. To remove chemical substances more effectively, activated carbon filters are recommended.

Is it true that HEPA filters are the most effective type of filter?

Although medical grade HEPA filters can filter more substances, making them the most expensive on the market, they cannot kill bacteria and viruses. The smaller the holes in the filter, or the larger the number of layers of the filter, the more it can filter, but it will also affect the air flow rate and increase the compressor's workload. For example, normal masks have 3 layers, while N95 is more difficult to breathe normally, so HEPA filters are not used everywhere.

Why is Murine Coronavirus used in evaluating the anti-viral efficacy?

There is currently no consensus internationally for the reference test organisms used for supporting claims against SARS-CoV-2. Human coronavirus 229E has been most recommended by many international agencies. However, because of the lower yield of human coronavirus 229E in the laboratory setting, it may be challenging to obtain adequate viral titer for control carriers. For such scenarios, murine coronavirus could be used as a surrogate, as viral titers tend to be higher than 229E.
